Over the past year, with your help, the Sierra Club made it clear to Congress and state and local governments that Americans want smart energy solutions and a reduction in global warming pollution. And thanks to you, we are on the brink of seeing significant clean energy legislation passed in Congress.

But our historic efforts can’t stop here - we need one last push to let Congress know that we can’t wait any longer for an energy policy that will help solve global warming.

Tell your friends and family to support strong energy bills today!

Among the actions that supporters like yourself have taken to affect energy policy are:



Exposing the plight of the polar bear, which is rapidly losing its habitat to global warming,
Continuing to expose our nation’s reliance on coal and the damage that mountaintop removal coal mining causes to pristine wilderness areas, rivers, communities, in addition to making global warming worse,
Sending over 100,000 letters, making phone calls and providing crucial grassroots power to ensure the passage of legislation in Senate to increase fuel economy standards and legislation in the House to create a national renewable energy standard.
We couldn’t have done this without you.

But our work is not over. Big Oil, coal and the auto industry are fighting the final passage of these important energy bills that combine both renewable energy and fuel economy standards. That’s why we need your help now to ensure that Congress hears from even more Americans who want a clean energy future.

Please take the time today to tell your friends and family to sign our petition to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, asking them to Flip the Switch and push for passage of energy bills that include both a renewable electricity standard and an increased fuel economy standard.
