As we head into the final hours of 2007, Darfur is still without a lasting peace.

Yet, as we look back on the last year there is no doubt that, together, we've made critical strides towards ending the violence in Darfur. Thanks to you and one million other Save Darfur activists, we have:

Put tremendous pressure on Congress, the White House, the United Nations, and China to use their power and influence to help end the violence;
Pushed for the strongest peacekeeping force and the quickest deployment possible; and
Helped build a successful national divestment movement to withdraw funds from companies helping to support the genocide.

Although we've made a great deal of progress this year, our job is far from over.

Right now, United Nations and African Union peacekeepers are poised to help but Sudanese President Bashir is blocking their deployment. And, despite their declarations of support for the people of Darfur, President Bush, Chinese President Hu, and other world leaders are allowing Bashir's delays to continue, prolonging the suffering in Darfur.

We need your help to put a stop to Bashir's delays and make sure that peacekeeping forces reach Darfur in 2008.
