TELL YOUR SENATORS

Dear sherrie:

In 2007, U.S. wind power grew by 45 percent, smashing previous records and installing enough new wind electric turbines to power the equivalent of 1.5 million homes. But wind power's continued growth is at risk without an extension of the Production Tax Credit (PTC). The PTC, the only major federal program directly supporting renewable energy, expires at the end of this year.

Our country needs the Production Tax Credit (PTC) to:

Provide the crucial economic incentive to accelerate the growth of clean energy
Protect current jobs and add new ones in the renewable energy industry
Make renewable power more affordable for all Americans
Help fight global warming by encouraging renewable energy use
Unless the PTC is extended immediately, the growth of wind power may decrease by up to 70 percent in 2009. Plans to build future wind projects are already being affected by uncertainty about the PTC. Take action now and tell your Senators to extend the Production Tax Credit (PTC). Please urge your family and friends to take action as well.
