Helpful Items

Today's EFT Quote: "I have a real phobia about driving in heavy traffic areas, especially with ramps that are elevated. I tried the tapping and drove on an expressway, with ease and comfort, that normally I would have avoided like the plague. That convinced me!" Pat Pietri

Today's Helpful Hint:

From an EFT point of view, phobias come in 3 varieties:

1. A simple delimited phobia that is not linked to other issues. These are usually handled quickly by EFT and take their place among our "one minute wonders."

2. A complex phobia that is linked to many past SPECIFIC EVENTS that created fear of the phobic object (e.g. a snake being thrown in one's lap at age 8). In this case, EFT needs to be applied to each SPECIFIC EVENT until the phobic response vanishes.

3. Phobias that are a mask for another problem. These require more "art of delivery" for success. I have had several cases where we made little or no headway with the phobia until I probed for underlying issues. One such case like this is The height Phobia that wouldn't move.

Featured Article #2: 60 years of pain gone in 20 minutes: Angela Treat Lyon provides us with an exquisite trip down "reframe lane" as she expertly assists her anger ridden client. This is an excellent example of how to combine traditional talk therapy with EFT. While many prefer to do more tapping along the way and to inject more specific events, there is certainly much to be learned from this article. Email Angela and Visit her website

Featured Article #3: Developing self compassion with persistent EFT : Zoe Zimmerman moves her client from an emotional abyss to a much improved sense of well being. She elaborates on many useful points. I make a comment at the end regarding the additional use of specific events. Email Zoe and Visit her website

Featured Article #4: Using EFT on Asperger’s Syndrome brings remarkable results for social anxiety: Asperger's Syndrome (AS) is a form of autism that is difficult to handle with conventional forms of therapy. However, Nikki Ball from the UK got quality results with only one EFT session. She says, "The following week I went to see him. His words were simply, 'that thing you did last week, it worked'." Back pain, head trauma and God issues: Here are three cases you might find interesting. First, Alan Woodhouse uses EFT to completely eliminate a severe back pain. After that, Stephanie Douglas gets relief by self applying EFT for her head trauma of 40 years duration. Finally, David Peppiatt helps a client by focusing on "God issues."
Calming down a suicidal client: The suicidal client is clearly in crisis and in big need of calming down. Sharon O'Hara was faced with a suicidal client and exhausted conventional means before resorting to EFT. As it turns out, much consternation could have been avoided if EFT has been used first. Here's how Sharon tells it.
Intuitional work with anger: Here is a message from Sharon Smallenberg that displays a unique version of my "intuitional thermometer" and clearly demonstrates what is possible with intuitional work. Those of you who have studied our EFT-Beyond the Basics (formerly Steps Toward Becoming the Ultimate Therapist) videos will recall my repeated demonstrations of "getting ourselves out of the way" and letting the process work "THROUGH us not BY us." This is the centerpiece of intuitional work, of course, and is an ability anyone can develop. in fact, it is essential to upper level mastery of these procedures.
Body parts and self image concerns: Body parts, particularly women's breasts, often grab the self image spotlight. A common concern is the loss of breast size that often occurs with the loss of weight. Does the size of one's breasts (or the "beauty" of any body part) really have that big an influence on one's self confidence? Or is it just the current focal point for broader self image issues? This message will explore those questions.
Anaphylactic shock--"Before her eyes the swelling went down": Paul Cutright does much of his work by phone and conducts highly effective EFT Tele-Training classes. One of his trainees, Pamela, used EFT very successfully on anaphylactic shock. As you will see, this potentially fatal ailment subsided in minutes with no intervention other than EFT. The swelling visibly faded and the victim resumed his activities as if nothing happened.
Surrogate/distance tapping for Cassie the dog: The talented Catherine O'Driscoll from Scotland provides us with this fascinating look into our possibilities with surrogate/distance tapping. This example happens to be with a dog but it is not much of a stretch so see the potential for humans.
Long standing fears fade for a 19 year old gymnast: Dr. Carol Look details for us a successful 90 minute session with a nationally ranked gymnast. Please note that all the EFT'ing was done OUTSIDE OF THE GYM where the gymnast could only imagine her various fears and related issues. As you will see, Carol was thorough enough in discovering all the aspects that her client was able to perform superbly in the real situation.
Pyrophobia, fear of medicines and working with groups over the phone: In his message, Paul Cutright illustrates doing EFT with a group. In this case, the group is comprised of several EFT newcomers that are listening in on a telephone conference call. He then applies EFT (over the phone) to one volunteer for a specific issue and asks the remainder of this "telephone group" to tap along for their individual issues. As you will see, most of the group achieves success even though Paul was only working with one person.
Using EFT on "Blocking Thoughts" to good relationships: David Lake, MD shares his experience with us regarding relationships. Among other things, he takes us through several clever and insightful uses of EFT for what he calls "blocking thoughts" to good relationships. His specific wording also includes some interesting humor and subtle reframes.
