Socrates Cafe meets this Saturday at Full Moon Book Store from 10 am to 12 pm. Full Moon is under new management so your continued support of the store will be appreciated as we try to keep ourselves in good graces with the new owner. Her name is Jean.

Type "Behind the Mask," our subject for this week, into Goggle and you will get a surprisingly very broad response, from movies of the horror genre to Agamemnon and Kierkegaard, Queen Elizabeth I, King Tut, women's aggression, prostate care, politics, depression, ethics, music, and much, much more. A little thought will have you saying "well of course. I knew that!" Masks have been prominent throughout history, in art, the social sciences, and the cinema. Besides, everyone wears one. Even in this age of out-of-the-closet self revelations on subjects ranging from sex to serial killing we can't stop hiding behind our masks. Join us this week as we try to pry the mask off ourselves (good luck with that) and discuss what if anything lies behind (or any other direction you want to take this subject.)
